Light Rail (Hong Kong)
Light Rail has been playing a key role in providing transportation to residents of the North West New Territories since 1988, and the Light Rail network has grown hand-in-hand with the population of the new towns. With the opening of Tin Shui Wai extensions in 2003, the Light Rail network has been extended to a route length of 36.15 kilometres with 68 stops. Following West Rail's commissioning, Light Rail has acted as a feeder service for West Rail while continuing to serve as the major mode of transport within the Northwest New Territories. Together, Light Rail and West Rail comprise a complementary network serving the transportation needs of one of Hong Kong's fastest growing regions. Light Rail passengers can interchange for West Rail at Yuen Long, Tin Shui Wai, Siu Hong and Tuen Mun stations. China
